
Stefan Aune is a teacher, writer, and researcher who specializes in history, literature, and culture. He has taught at Williams College, New York University, and the University of Michigan. He is the author of Indian Wars Everywhere: Colonial Violence and the Shadow Doctrines of Empire (University of California Press, 2023), a contributor to At War: The Military and American Culture in the Twentieth Century and Beyond (Rutgers University Press, 2018), and the author of articles in American Quarterly and the Pacific Historical Review. Stefan had the privilege of contributing to the recent episode of the First America podcast by journalist Rebecca Nagle, where he discussed early American history and wars with Native nations.
